FAIRYTALE ALPINE COUNTRY

Snow-capped peaks and alpine valleys are especially magical in December. At this time of the year, Christmas fair comes to life in Kranjska Gora, which brings a very special atmosphere to the picturesque village under Julian Alps. A walk among small stalls full of handicrafts souvenirs and culinary specialities will quickly take us to Christmas time.

Following Upper Sava Valley we will also reach the largest nordic centre in the region – Planica Nordic Centre. The view of the ski flying hill giant is impressive, as is the newly created centre, which offers the opportunity to learn about the history of nordic sports and Planica ski jumps. In the valley there is also an idyllic village of Mojstrana, which in Advent time hosts an ice nativity scene, the backdrop of which is the icy gorge of Mlačca.

The path will take us to Upper Sava Valley, where we will visit the nativity scene in the ice of Mlačca gorge at Mojstrana. We will continue our trip towards Kranjska Gora, where we will walk around the village, Christmas-spirited town core, visit Lake Jasna and treat ourselves with a typical lunch in Gorenjska region.

We will end our trip with a visit to Planica, where is Planica Nordic Centre and ski flying hill giant.
